Pizza
I started making pizza with my sister and mom from a young age. It is so worth it to make your own pizza dough, trust me - try it once and you will never go back to store-bought dough!
Ingredients:
2 1/4 tsp yeast
1 cup warm water
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tbs olive oil
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar
Toppings of choice!
Method:
In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand until creamy, about 10 minutes.
In a large bowl, combine flour, olive oil, salt, sugar, and the yeast mixture; stir well to combine. Knead until a stiff dough has formed. Cover and rise until doubled in volume, about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 450°F.
Turn dough onto a well-floured surface. Form dough into a round and roll out into a pizza crust shape. Cover with your favorite sauce and toppings and bake in preheated oven until golden brown, about 15 minutes. Makes one thick crust 12-inch pizza.
